New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian visits SUSTech to sign key technology cooperation agreement

On December 4, 2017, a delegation of 22 people, including Gladys Berejiklian, Premier of New South Wales, Australia, and Prof. Attila Brungs, President of the University of Technology, Sydney, visited SUSTech.

During the visit, SUSTech President Chen Shiyi and UTS President Attila Brungs signed a technical cooperation agreement, while Premier Gladys Berejiklian, SUSTech University Council Chairperson Guo Yurong, Vice-President of Research Tang Tao, and Chief Operating Officer Lu Chun attended the signing ceremony.

The agreement aims to strengthen and further promote exchanges and cooperation between the two universities in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship, joint research centers, faculty exchanges and student internships. The signing of the agreement is a new step in SUSTech's global internationalization effort.

During the signing ceremony, Chen Shiyi welcomed Premier Gladys Berejiklian and the delegation of UTS on behalf of SUSTech. Premier Gladys Berejiklian and President Attila Brungs followed with talks and expressed their appreciation for the invitation, as well as their admiration for the rapid development of the city of Shenzhen and SUSTech. They expressed their hope that the two universities would cooperate more in the future and build close ties.

During the delegation's visit, Chen Shiyi, Lu Chun and other university leaders accompanied the visitors to the Pico Center and the Lakeside Residential College on campus. They also presented the university's achievements in scientific research and undergraduate education, after which both parties engaged in in-depth exchanges.
